What is Puppy Culture?

Puppy Culture is a structured training and socialization program designed to give puppies the best possible start in life. Developed by Jane Killion and canine behaviorists and trainers, it focuses on critical early development periods to ensure puppies grow into well-mannered, adaptable dogs. From birth to the time they go home with you, our puppies experience carefully designed exercises and experiences that build confidence, encourage problem-solving, and teach them how to interact positively with people and other animals.

Problem-Solving and Emotional Stability Weeks 4-8

• Puzzle toys and treat-dispensing games

• Small obstacle courses to build coordination and perseverance

• Positive reinforcement training sessions that teach basic commands and good manners

Crate Training and Potty Training Foundations

• Crate training to help puppies see their crate as a safe, comfortable space

• Early potty training routines so they understand where and when to go potty

• Gentle leash introduction so they can begin to enjoy walks with their new families

Manding – Teaching Puppies to Politely Ask for Attention

We use the Manding technique, a Puppy Culture method that teaches puppies to sit calmly to ask for attention instead of jumping up or barking. This simple but powerful skill lays the groundwork for a lifetime of good manners.
